Back when I was newly pregnant with Baby Bug and getting back into sewing, one of the first patterns I sewed for myself was a cute cross front dress. The pattern that I used was not available in child/baby size, but I imagined that if I had a baby girl, I might be able to find something and match in our cross front dresses.
When I first saw the design for the brand new Buttercup from Sunflower Seams, my mind raced back to all those plans I made "if I ever had a baby girl".
Well my baby girl is here....and a few years later, the perfect pattern just happened to come to me.
First thing's first, the fabric for this project is cotton lycra from knitfabric.com.
This pattern is so so cute, and not only does it cross over the front....
...but also the back!
I know there are so many fun fabric combinations that can be used for this design!
The sleeves for this design are more form fitting, and I chose long sleeve for this project, since we are still in colder weather.
The skirt is a sweet circle skirt that can also be in top length.
It's perfect for that sweet twirl!!
This pattern also comes in three different sizes - baby, child, and juniors!
I am so so lucky to be able to see this sweet pattern come to life!
I can't wait to match my little baby girl..
Happy Sewing!!
