...We ALL scream for ICE CREAM!
Oh yes...this is the newest print from Wee Little Things.
In fact, not only is it brand new, but it is EXCLUSIVE to Wee Little Things!
This specific print - the ice cream and the stripes - were an auction print that went to benefit Reece's Rainbow.
What is Reece's Rainbow? Its an organization that supports families financially in their process to adopt special needs children from overseas.
I obviously NEEDED this print, because it is SO special.
While waiting for this special fabric to arrive, I began the planning process of what I wanted this special dress to look like. The biggest requirement for me was that I needed to bend the stripes into a rainbow.
I also wanted an a-symmetrical skirt to frame the rainbow exactly right!
This skirt is SO special and I am completely obsessed with it's twirl!! I made it up, so sorry there is no pattern for it, but it is a layered gathered circle skirt, the bottom having ruffles, and the top cut a-symetrically.
I'm just gonna take a moment to appreciate the twirl and fullness....
Ahhhhh it's out of this world beautiful. The dress bodice comes from Little Lizard King's London dress.
I chose sleeveless for this project to bring us into the summer months, because.....ice cream.
I love this dress all by itself - I can't wait for warmer weather!
Of course....I'm also a fairly realistic person and can't help but notice that it's NOT warm outside. Lame.
So I made a little sweater for her.
This sweet sweater is actually a hacked Little Lizard King Galena.
I got the idea and instructions for the hack HERE.
Of course, that hat brings it all together!
The hat is also from Little Lizard King, it's the Solano.
Now.........to complete this look, Baby Bug needs those accessories!!
So make sure that when Wee Little Things opens again early February, you grab this amazing print with such a special meaning!
Happy Sewing!
