The next two posts are going to be so difficult for me to write.
My journey with Simple Life actually began about four years ago, without even having a clue. One of my close friends saw me wearing a lot of LuLaRoe because 'it's so comfy and so soft'. She let me know I could BUY that kind of fabic by the yard. I wasn't super interested at first, that takes a lot of time to make them when I could just buy something. Besides, I didn't know how to sew knits. Over time, however, she convinced me to try it out, set me up with different kinds of needles and thread, showed me where to get the fabric, etc. Before long, I had my first me made dress in a LONG time.
....and I was completely hooked on buying DBP (that super-soft fabric). I made things for CC, a few things for the boys. But making things for them wasn't very much fun, since there's only so many t-shirts I want to make, and CC was sort of hit or miss on things she liked.
And then....a year later, E-Bug was born!! And hooray.......a GIRL!!! SO MUCH FUN to sew for, right?! Well....most of her first year of life was spent moving and home renovating, so I made simple things for her, but when we hit about 9mo, I was ready to really get into making cute girly bubble rompers for her!! That's when I stumbled on to Simple Life Pattern Co!! I found the bubble romper add on and saw I could mash it onto any bodice....and her wardrobe exploded.
It was around then that I started recovering again from that post partum haze, and started photographing again. I don't have many pictures of her when she was an infant, but I have TONS from about a year up!
Last year was pretty hard on everyone. In mid March, I shared this picture of Baby Bug in her bubble romper just before my hubs moved us down to my moms house from the city, just in case.
After an incredibly difficult and sudden trip, I was so worn out emotionally, and when we got to my moms house, I saw a message from one of the designers from Simple Life asking if I would be willing to test their patterns. I could not have been more surprised or thankful or excited in that moment! So I settled in and got right to it! I loved testing for Simple Life! It taught me SO MUCH. I look at old pictures of the way things used to fit on her....yikes. HAHA! This began a year long great testing time. I got to know the designers more, and made some amazing friends (SPACE DRESS!). Testing for Simple Life opened a LOT of doors for me in the sewing community, but more on that later. I have to step down as a SLPCo tester now for reasons that will be explained in a different post, and I have nothing but thankfulness and love for SLPCo.
Thank you Simple Life Pattern Co!!
Happy Sewing!!
