Let's have a little chat about THAT dress. You know the one I'm talking about. Baby Bug looks like she's about to go fairy hunting.
This dress is actually a very simple mash up of two of my favorite patterns from Simple Life Pattern Co. I started with the brand new Geneva pattern. You can find the girl sizes here and the baby sizes here. The front is all Geneva. The only modifications I made were adding ribbon detail to the front panel.
The back has this drop dead gorgeous neckline. This is where the mash up is. I used SLPCo's Pearl. You can find that pattern in girl sizes here and baby sizes here. It is a very simple mash. I started with the Geneva, and traced the neckline of the Pearl right on top. That's it. I hope that if you are new to sewing and unsure of mashing, try this tiny mash. You will be blown away at the results!
The fabric I chose for this project came from a custom fabric shop called Wee Little Things Fabric. It was my first time ordering fabric from this company, and I was very happy with the vibrancy and quality of the fabric. It has a very short TAT compared to most custom fabric sites. I will be back for more!
This kid is such a stinker to try to photograph, but oh we love her so.
Happy sewing!
