A Little Bit of Holly Here and There

I know I know....I was supposed to share these weeks ago.

ree

The fact of the matter is that I've mostly just been a big ol' ball of anxiety lately, rendering me practically useless.

ree

A few weeks ago, I threw a load of laundry in the washer, and went grocery shopping. As I passed by out detached garage, I heard an alarming sound of water GUSHING like a waterfall.

ree

Our detached garage is amazing, because the main level is a garage with bifolding doors (think 'carriage house'), with a studio apartment (including full bathroom with tub/shower) above it, and a BASEMENT that houses the house's boiler room and a huge tank of oil for the radiators.

ree

So when I heard GUSHING water coming from the basement, anxiety and stress kicked in full time.

ree

I instantly called mom and she came over with Kevin to take a look....and noticed the water was coming out and leaking just above the boiler room's ELECTRICAL PANEL.

ree

And so began my apparently never-ending journey trying to get a leaky pipe fixed.

ree

There is water in the crawl space beneath the house's addition in the back - the office and laundry room area. The rest of the home is dry, thank goodness.

ree

We think the main water line from the house is leaking, and overflowing through the channel beneath the driveway to the boiler room.

ree

We got a plumber who has been the city plumber for years, and has actually worked on this house in the past and knows it. Less stress!!

ree

He was supposed to come last Tuesday, but never showed up. After a few days of calling him, He told us his son was sick.

ree

He rescheduled for TODAY. I'm a big ol ball of anxiety again because it's 11a and still no plumber.

ree

To be honest, I'm a BIT annoyed because I'm missing a parent meeting for CC's homeschool class for this.

ree

As it is, we cannot do laundry of shower in the house right now, as that causes huge gushing into the boiler room. We use as little water as we possibly can, but with a potty training toddler, it can be difficult because she ALWAYS wants to flush toilets.

ree

We might be moving into moms house temporarily again soon, so the crawl space can dry out.

ree

.........if the plumber doesn't show up and fix it, at least.

ree

So now that I've told you about my biggest stress ball, here are some of the details of my newest sewing pattern, Holly from Sunflower Seams.

ree

As you can see with this version, Holly has a sweet tunic length skirt, perfect for pairing with leggings or pants! This outfit pairs Holly with Poppy from Sunflower Seams.

ree

For this version, I used the 3/4 sleeve length, since we were still transitioning from warm to cold weather.

ree

The cowl neck added some warmth and style to this sweet top as well!

ree

The fabric comes from Wee Little Things Fabric, but I grabbed it during their LAST preorder....which makes me so sad.

ree

Anyways, thanks for listening to my sad rant about my stress ball situation.

ree

Happy Sewing!!

-Shelley
