Hey there! I hope all y'all Thanksgivings were blessed with family and warmth and love.
And now that Thanksgiving is finished....
...we can turn our attention to Christmas sewing!
Yes, Eden. I DID say Christmas sewing!
I know I still need to show off all the versions of Holly, but I sort of got sidetracked.
They're coming, but first, I wanted to share this beautiful more special occasion sew!
This is Poinsettia from Sunflower Seams!
As you can see, Eden is REALLY excited about it.
...and wants everyone to know she loves it.
For real.
For this version, I had wanted long sleeves, but alas my child is growing, which means using more fabric!
But it's still stunning and we both love it.
I grabbed some tulle from Walmart to match this beautiful quilting cotton I grabbed from knitfabric.com.
I wanted to use it for the ruffles in the back bodice, but was worried they would bother her.
This lovely pattern actually holds the ruffles away from the body slightly, so she was never uncomfortable!
I needed the lovely collar, of course!
And I DID modify the skirt slightly.
I used the dress length for the tulle and lining, then layered it with the vintage length with the main fabric.
It is such a gorgeous holiday dress!
.Of course, my moms crepe myrtle was the perfect backdrop for this shoot, too!!
I actually really love this shoot.
Not only did she knock it out of the park, but...
...Dad was here to help with this shoot.
So it reminds me of a nice warm fall day (one of the last ones)...
...hanging out with Greg.
Good times.
Happy Sewing!!
